A Swing for Life Golf Academy
“A Swing for Life" Golf Academy – located on the premises of Scott Greens Golf Club – is now in its 21st year. What began as an indoor golf program has slowly evolved into a full-fledged golf academy. Approximately 75 - 100 students - both adults and juniors – enroll in the golf program every year.
The program - developed and taught by instructor Scotty McAlarney - has graduated some of the finest junior and adult players in our area. Some of the golf academy’s students have gone on to their own careers in the golf industry.
Former student - Head P.G.A. Golf Professional Eric Steindel - says “as a fellow instructor, I apply the concepts and drills that Scott has taught me with golf students of my own”.
Since 1996, our academy has over 125 tournament wins - and counting - among our former and present junior, high school, college, mid-amatuer, and senior students. Over 60 - 1st & 2nd team All-Stars and All-Regional status.
In 2015, we had 4 students qualifing for the PIAA State Championship with 1 finishing in the Top 10. Presently, 7 PGA or other affiliate teaching professionals have come through our academy.
A Swing for Life Golf Academy has given away thousands of dollars in award money to our scholarship fund that is given each year to full-time academy students moving on to college.
Scotty - who serves as Director of Golf for Scott Greens Golf Club and the Golf Academy - has had numerous articles on his teaching style and system published – a system which Scotty and his instuctors implement on a daily basis.
Scotty’s background and studies on the “mental approach” to golf - combined with his vast knowledge of “healthy” teaching methods - gives the academy and its students “a swing for life”.
